Brief is a simple app that helps you save web articles to your email. We respect your privacy and collect only what's necessary to provide the service.

Brief uses Google Gemini, a third-party AI service operated by Google LLC, to generate optional article summaries. If Gemini is unavailable, Brief falls back to Anthropic Claude, a third-party AI service operated by Anthropic PBC, to generate the summary instead. This feature is disabled by default and requires your explicit consent before any data is shared.
When you enable the AI Summary feature, the following data is transmitted to Google Gemini (primary) or Anthropic Claude (backup, used only if Gemini is unavailable):

When you enable AI Summary:
AI Summary is an optional feature that is disabled by default. When you first attempt to enable AI Summary, you will be shown a consent dialog that clearly explains:
You must explicitly tap "Enable AI Summary" to consent. You can disable AI summaries at any time in the app settings or when sharing a link.
When content is processed by Google Gemini, it is subject to Google's Privacy Policy. When content is processed by Anthropic Claude, it is subject to Anthropic's Privacy Policy. Both providers offer enterprise-grade data protection for API users, and their practices provide protection of your data that is equivalent to the protection provided by Brief.
